Renaissance Hotels, the global lifestyle brand known for bringing its “Business Usual” mantra to today’s travelers, will host its sixth annual Global Day of Discovery on Wednesday, May 17, at 160 hotels around the world.
Created to encourage business travelers to experience “5 to 9” with as much vigor as they approach their “9 to 5,” Global Day of Discovery will host unexpected hotel events and neighborhood experiences that bring an unusual taste of the local scene to life in more than 35 countries around the world.
The Renaissance Tampa International Plaza Hotel will celebrate Global Day of Discovery with bachata lessons, a performance by celebrated bachata dance troupe La Fuerza from Sarasota, Latin music, bachata and salsa dancing plus Latin-themed food and cocktails.
The May 17 Day of Discovery in Tampa begins with a bar ritual demonstrated in the hotel lobby at 7 p.m. Jorge Chavez leads free bachata lessons in the lobby 7:30 - 8 p.m. and the acclaimed La Fuerza dance troupe performs bachata from 8 - 8:15 p.m.
The evening’s activities continue in Pelagia Trattoria starting at 8:15 p.m. when DJ Koki Lizonde plays Latin dance music until midnight. Cover charge is $20 per person.
