TAMPA, FLORIDA - Beyond Beautiful is a fashion event to celebrate exceptional women of all abilities. The night will benefit over 200 guests and will feature title holding beauty queens, glamour stations for hair, makeup and accessories, a fashion show that emphasizes qualities of inner beauty and more. We have confirmed the attendance of Miss Wheelchair Florida, Miss. Southeast International, Miss St. Petersburg Outstanding Teen, Miss Largo and Mrs. Southwest Florida International.
Though the night will start with a focus on glamour and a red-carpet entry, the unique part of the evening will be the fashion show focused on inner beauty. The fashion show features beauty queens as well as everyday women that embody the words powerful, inspirational, charitable and fearless. The show emphasizes qualities that are important and admirable for all women, especially those facing challenges associated with various disabilities.
Rachael Barcellona, Miss. Southeast International is one of the attending beauty queens. Rachael also has autism and is representing fearless during the show. Rachael said, "This is going to be such a fun and meaningful event. Girls with different abilities coming together for a night of glamour! Some of these girls may not otherwise have this opportunity and I am looking forward to meeting everyone on this night of fashion and inclusion."
Beyond Beautiful is hosted by Help Us Gather or HUG, a local non-profit organization. HUG launched in November of 2017 in Tampa Bay. The mission of HUG is to connect individuals with disabilities to social events and activities in the community. HUG was inspired to host this event after meeting so many exceptional women with disabilities in the community.
Robin Lally, HUG's founder said, "Our goal for the evening is to have our guests leave the event with a feeling of confidence, inclusion and friendship. We are working to build a community of support between women of all abilities."
