Get ready for the 2011 Gasparilla International Film Festival! For nearly 5 years, GIFF has upheld their standards of support for local Tampa Bay filmmakers. On March 24th to March 27th, local film artists will light up the big screen with their proud creations. These independent films range from comedy, horror and even documentaries.

With over 100,000 people expected to attend Gasparilla this year, these aspiring filmmakers have the opportunity to expose their creative films to one of the largest audiences of their careers. Located at both Tampa Theatre for opening night and CineBistro in Hyde Park for film screenings, these venues offer the perfect environment to compliment the creativity of these independent films. The closing night location is still yet to be determined but will be updated this month of January.

GIFF is now in the process of reviewing all of the films with the recent deadline that just passed end of December. It is in later January that GIFF will announce their schedule of events. Fans will still want to purchase their memberships, also known as tickets, early in order to not miss out on these unique evenings. Memberships can be purchased here.

The film festival also reaches out to those who are willing to volunteer for this event. They are looking for attendants in the Box Office, Ushers, and wherever else they need a pair of extra hands. It is exciting to know that with volunteering comes free admission to screenings as well as the possibility of being invited to V.I.P. events. To some, this would be better than monetary compensation so make sure to register your willingness to help.
