If you've ever wanted to experience some of the best and brightest in Tampa Bay dining but have never gotten the chance to really do it, Dine Tampa Bay Restaurant Week is definitely a great place to start.

Taking place from August 3 to 17, this annual event gives local and visiting food lovers alike a chance to sample a variety of specially-priced three-course meals from a handful of Tampa Bay's best eateries.

Hosted by Tampa Bay & Company and Visit Tampa Bay/Clearwater, Dine Tampa Bay Restaurant Week 2012 is designed to stimulate small local businesses while giving consumers an affordable way to taste their way through Tampa Bay's vibrant culinary landscape.

So, how does it work?

First, you head to www.dinetampabay.com and browse the list of participating restaurants.  These range from waterfront seafood restaurants to steakhouses, French brasseries, and more.  Each restaurant offers a special prix fixe menu of three courses at a price of either $25, $35, or $45 per person.

For instance, you can browse through the menu list, click on Grillsmith of Brandon and see that they're offering a three-course meal with selections like Spicy Thai Shrimp, Chicken Milanese, and Grand Marnier Creme Brulee for $25.

Once you've made your restaurant selection, you can book your reservation straight from the site and be well on your way towards some delicious dining in Tampa.

Currently, participating Dine Tampa Bay Restaurant Week restaurants include Grillsmith (multiple locations), 400 Beach Seafood and Tap House, Fleming's Prime Steakhouse, Ocean Prime, and many more with new restaurants added daily.
