So it’s the day of the big game at Raymond James and you want to drink; likely at a place that’s not too far away that caters to fans, a place that allows t-shirts and shorts!. Understandable. Here're a few of our favorite watering holes around Tampa's beloved Raymond James Stadium. "Chin. Chin",  for Great Gameday Bars Around Raymond James Stadium!
 

Pelagia Trattoria At Renaissance Tampa 

Offers fans the opportunity to rev up before the game or celebrate after the with a first-class experience in a relaxing atmosphere boasting a 7-day a week Happy Hour! Perfect if you are on a date or simply want to impress by doing something unique.  Nothing remotely like tailgating, at Pelagia you can grab a 'Signature Bite' like, Sauteed Shrimp with spicy gambas butter / 6.00 or Char Grilled Octopus with chorizo oil, frisee' & Florida oranges for 12.00. You can share their Jumbo Lump Crab Cake with tomato jam for 15.00 or savor delicate White Anchovies with a Radish Carpaccio, topped with tart Orange Zest at 8.00.
 
My favorite gameday appy at Pelagia are the Crispy Calamari Steaks with pizzaiola sauce for 12.00.  Not strips, trust me, the word 'steaks' applies, as these tasty bits of luscious calamari are thick and meaty.  Be sure to try the Crunchy Olives stuffed with veal, pork & beef at 6.00 and the Tomato & Goat Cheese Baguettes with a rich Basil Pesto, also 6.00.  Their signature bites and signature dinners pair well with the hand-crafted cocktails and fine wines.  Be sure to Click their name and head to their 813area business page where you can click over to their website to see what they offer for a meal! It's divine, making  Pelagia Trattoria at International Plaza and Bay Street perfect for a memorable gameday pre or after game destination. Lunch is served from 11:00 am to 3:00, Dinner service is from 5:30 to 10:00 pm.

Kona Grill

Kona is an American grill, despite what you may surmise from the name. The extensive menu includes sushi, exotic entrees, wraps, burgers, pizza, pasta and more. Perfect for a gameday visit  if you love sushi their fresh fish is flown in daily. Find out why there are so many Konavore's in Tampa by stopping in to try this fabulous restaurant near Raymond James! They opne at 11 am on Sunday and remain open till 10 pm.

World of Beer Avion Park

World of Beer is the ultimate craft beer haven that offers guests a global beer experience from the barstool. This original craft beer tavern complements the largest selection of beers in Tampa Bay with tavern fare. Open at 11 am on Sundays stop in before or after the game, they are open till midnight! The perfect place to slug down unique beers with German pretzels ($8), Cheese and Sausage Boards ($15), my fave chimichurri meatballs, a latin inspired beef and pork meatball topped with fresh garlic and an amazing herb sauce with an arugula salad all for $8. My hubby always orders the Tavern Tots, only $7.50 WOB tops tater tots with housemade beer cheese, jalapeños, crispy bacon, scallions & sour cream with his Amber Ale. WOB also serves a full lunch and brunch menu, and a mean white peach sangria!  Yes, if beer is not your thing you will be satisfied with delicious craft cocktails at WOB!

Brick House Tavern & Tap

Located on Dale Mabry, in the shadows of I-275, Brick House Tavern & Tap is one of the best gameday bars in Tampa; featuring burgers, fries, onion rings and a selection of American & European beers they also make a mean Bloody Mary! Open Sundays 11 am to midnight, Brick House is minutes away from Raymond James and dispenses happiness daily! The perfect place after the game, they always manage to put a smile on our faces following a win or loss at the stadium!

Duffy's Sports Grill

This casual comfortable sports bar serves American (New), American (Traditional), Barbeque, Burgers, Cajun/Creole, Caribbean, Chinese, Italian, Mexican, Sandwiches, Seafood, Southern, and Spanish fare with ice cold beer, a great selection of wine and tasty craft cocktails it's easy to dive into following the game!

Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant

A prime destination for signature wines and upscale eats, this casual gameday bar in Tampa's Westshore District is across from International Plaza and Bay Street.  Spanning 11,229-square-feet of modern, woody restaurant and bar, Cooper's Hawk is comfortable, cozy and a great place to commiserate if yet again, the Bucs tried to sit on a small lead, only to blow it in the end with a loss.  Can you tell I've been a season ticket holder for years!

Cooper's Hawk is where we go when our focus is on wine! With a HUGE selection from blush to sparkling there is NO RISK at Cooper's Hawk, if you want to try something new, just ask, you can taste before you buy!  Be sure to try their wine flights priced from 13.99 to 18.99 or a specialty cocktail from the bar, their Southern Hooch with Moonshine, Pineapple Juice, Lemon, Passion Fruit, and a Sugared Rim for 9.50 and the perfect drink to drown those gameday blues!  On Sundays Cooper's Hawk bar opens at 11:00 am and remains open until 10:00 pm. The restaurant closes at 9 pm.

Del Frisco's Grille Tampa

Stylish and fun, Del Frisco's Grille, also in the Westshore District in Tampa, takes the classic American gameday bar and grill to new heights; using market-fresh ingredients they tantalize each and every fan! Their energetic bar is a great place to dissect the game after the final whistle while sipping on Youth Serum (Fresh Cucumber, Crushed Mint, Ketel One Vodka, and a house-made Lemon Sour Mix for $12) or my fave their Pomegranate Margarita made with Camarena Reposado Tequila, Cointreau, Pom Juice, and a splash of fresh lime sour also $12.  

The doors open at 3:00 on Sundays and stay open until 10 pm so you can rest and recuperate from the excitement at Raymond James!  From their two-fisted sandwiches like the Butcher Cut Bacon Burger (14.50) to the Shaved Prime Steak Sandwich (17.00) on their lunch menu to the Sunday Night Special Prime Rib Dinner (12 or 16 oz) Del Frisco's menu and cocktails keep fans coming back.

Rick's on the River

Looking for something totally laid back, a place where you can suck down cold, fresh oysters and enjoy an ice cold beer in a totally relaxed atmosphere?  Rick's may not pop into your head, but it is less than three miles from  Raymond James Stadium up Himes Avenue and Columbus Drive.  Approximately 7 minutes away, Rick's is the perfect place to go pre or post game fun every gameday. Located in a marina, Rick's offers   live musicgreat food, and cold drinks every day! 

A prize location for a little fun in the sun, at Rick's you will enjoy a variety of menu items from fresh oysters (Market price) and little neck clams ($8) to wings (10 for 9.89), sandwiches like Rick's Famous Fish Sandwich ($9), salads like Rick's Caribbean with Coconut Shrimp ($9), and more. Or, just sit back and relax on the riverfront with a great selection of beer and wine. Now a STOP for Pirate Water Taxi from Rick's you can HOP aboard and visit many other spots along the riverfront in Downtown Tampa to Tampa Heights and more. Bar Louie

Bar Louie is a casual neighborhood bar just a few blocks from the stadium.  Enjoy artfully concocted signature cocktails, beer, wine, and a diverse food menu at Louie's. Fill up before or after the game with a Louie Burger - grilled onion, provolone, spicy giardiniera - El Burrito Loco - steak, rice, black beans, lettuce, cilantro, tomato, queso, red & green sauces, sour cream, chips - or a big ol' Buffalo Chicken Pizza with fried chicken, buffalo sauce, carrot, celery, mozzarella, blue cheese crumbles, blue cheese sauce that you can share with friends.

If you like a bit of down home barbecue your drinking (and let’s be honest, who doesn’t?) you’ll love Leeroy Selmon’s conveniently located under two miles from the stadium. Drink specials like $1.99 Bud and Bud Light drafts every day as well as incredibly affordable mixed drinks like the All-Pro Margarita and Classic Mojito make this spot a place you can cheer about!  

Team starters include Smokin’ Brisket Stack Smoked brisket served atop crispy corn cakes, topped with coleslaw and Georgia Buffalo sauce for $7, Fried Green Tomatoes, my favorite for $6, flatbreads, championship salads, and soups. Selmon's offers a 12oz Hand-Cut Parmesan Crusted Ribeye grilled over an open flame for $18, pro-bowl worthy burgers, sandwiches, and ribs. Oh yeah, the barbecue ain’t bad either; smoked chicken, pulled pork, beef brisket…drooling yet? Open Sundays 11:30 till 10:00 pm.
