Description
New works by New York artist Caroline Morgan at Tampa Gallery, Rialto Theatre 8 Count Productions
Event Details
Painting landscapes for Caroline is not just a way to show the world around her, but rather a method of interpreting the world. As she recalls her travels, she transforms images of the natural world into a new fragmented surface of abstract shapes, painterly colors and textures, and sudden or mysterious perspective breaks. Through out the years she has been experimenting with these new techniques and colors. Although the titles of the works may say it is one location, the elements and techniques within the painting can make the landscape something new. It would still be the same place, but the interpretation and methods of viewing are different. By introducing a new meaning to a place, it opens up an opportunity for the viewer to see the landscape in a new light.
