Description
Learn sculptural turning with Beth Ireland in a hands on class to learn how to use the lathe as a tool for creating sculpture and carvings.
Event Details
This class will explore the sculptural forms made available using the lathe as a tool of sculpture and carving, and not just the source of round objects. Students will be given a series of exercises that will develop the skill and understanding necessary to tackle directed projects. The fundamentals of Art as they related to sculpture will be introduced and each student will be encouraged to develop a personal visual language to create functional or non functional objects in a safe supportive atmosphere.
