Participants will learn:
Pedagogical heritage from CPE Bach to the latest knowledge of piano techniques
The mechanics of tone production which involves active fingers supported by the arm,
shoulder and pectoral structures
How Chopin's technique further promotes finger-arm-body-mind coordination
Body posture, body stabilization and body mapping for pianists
How to become mindful pianists, and to control touch and tone in the performances of music in varying styles
How understanding hand biomechanics can help produce healthy and efficient techniques
How to translate music into appropriate movements
How to develop "flow state" when playing the piano
The USF-PAMA-The Music Gallery Piano Pedagogy Symposium Certificate will be awarded upon completion of the two-day symposium.
The Pre-Symposium Beethoven Concert by Leonidas Lipovetsky will be held in the USF Concert Hall, on October 15, 2015 at 7:30 PM.
The Celebrated Pianist-Pedagogues Concert will be held in the USF Concert Hall on October 16, 2015 at 7:30 PM.
The Symposium Participant Concert will be held in the USF Barness Recital Hall on October 17, 2015 at 5:00 PM.
