Opening February 10-March 4, the three Verdeen cousins—Gaynelle, Peaches and Jimmie Wyvette—could not have picked a worse time to throw their family reunion to celebrate Grandpa Verdeen’s 90th birthday – the hottest day in July with incorrigible relatives, smack dab in the middle of tornado season. Stir in a skeptical court-appointed psychologist come to evaluate Gaynelle’s sanity, a neighborhood busybody, an amorous one-eyed suitor, an outrageous sheriff, and a competition against Lamerle Verdeen to bake the best Red Velvet Cake or lose the family home and you have the recipe for disaster.
