Although Bobby Capri was born and raised through age seven in Houston, TX, he is not the average Texan rapper. In fact, he was influenced much more significantly by Jay-Z and the late Notorious B.I.G. than Bun B or Paul Wall. At age thirteen, Bobby started rapping as a way to express himself and survive the pressures of childhood. At age fourteen, he moved to Virginia with his mother and three brothers in search of a better life than his father in Texas was willing to provide.

Years of practice, performance and battling later, Bobby decided to leave his job at a Target distribution center to become a professional rapper. Since then, he has rocked audiences alongside the Nappy Roots and many other talented artists. With a style and delivery all his own, Bobby continues to craft complex, rewind-worthy rhymes that reveal increasingly clever wordplay upon repeat listens. He has the swagger, production and stage presence to captivate mainstream and radio audiences without sacrificing intelligence or street appeal.

The "27 Club" mixtape from Bobby Capri has one of the most creative concepts that I've seen this year. Not only is the mixtape filled with great music from this Texas hip hop artist, but within it are samples from late music greats that made a huge impact in their music, but only lived to see 27 years young.

This album is creative beyond measure and Bobby Capri's overall artistry is well groomed and ready for any kind of music lover. On the record "2nd Hand High", we're taken on a jazzy curve with the horns on the beats mixed in with the creative wordplay of Bobby Capri. Within "Hendrix" it is nothing short of rock-n-roll greatness then on to "Rock Star Status" with the heavy guitars blended with the different percussion sounds Bobby Capri gives his fans something to look for on every song. Bobby Capri isn't afraid that side of him that endures the finer things in life, once you press play on the song "Centerfold" you'll understand why. Great track.

Not only does Bobby Capri show much confidence and composure throughout his project, but if you take a visit to YouTube you'll find a handful of music videos on Bobby Capri and you'll see that he displays it in his videos as well, especially on the lead single "Rent's Due".
"The 27 Club" is an album worth getting your hands on and I promise it'll be one that will be in your player for a while.
