Local musicians should be jumping from behind their instruments at the chance to win this epic prize from Hard Rock. Winning this battle could mean endless success for avid and aspiring rock stars. The prize: Hard Rock Calling 2011… In London!
The details include a registration deadline at 5 p.m. on January 29th. Bands can choose to register through an application process found here or at the hostess stand in Tampa’s new Hard Rock Café. Get the paperwork done, and get to practicing because this is sure to be THE battle of the year.
After submitting the application, Hard Rock will decide which applicants will compete in round one of the battle at 10 p.m. on February 24th. It is from here that three bands will advance to the final local battle March 3rd at Hard Rock Café, with rumors of celebrity judges but no names yet. This will be an impressive event to watch for all Tampa Rock Fans!
The one winner from this night will be put into one of four world regional categories. After experts narrow down the regional winners, they will then post the bands on the Hard Rock Website. From here on out, there is a voting system in place where one winner from each region will be determined by the fans.
Once the four regional winners are announced, the fun and fame really begins! Each band will be flown to London’s Hyde Park for their final battle in “Hard Rock Calling 2011.” The show takes place for three entire days running from June 24th to June 26th. The final winner will be determined by fan votes and receive the honor of opening for one of the headliners on the Main Stage. The runners-up still get to rock out on the Second Stage, leaving nothing and no one behind.
So strap on your guitars and stock up on extra drum sticks, this is the battle of a lifetime that every Tampa Rocker should compete for!
