Tampa has always been based on the water around us. Port Tampa Bay has been a large part of the history and economy of our area, bringing everything from cheaper gas prices to providing thousands of jobs. A cultural shift has happened to take full advantage of the water winding through the city to transform from an industrial waterfront to a place for people to live, work and play. There was the 40-year effort to create the Tampa Riverwalk and the more recent efforts of Sparkman Wharf to tear down old walls and be open to the water.

Bayshore Boulevard 

Bayshore Boulevard is home to the world's longest continuous sidewalk and Linear Park. The ten feet sidewalk is popular among walkers, joggers and bikers. Some of the most beautiful homes in Tampa reside stretch of sidewalk on the bay. 

Harbour Island

Harbour Island is one of the gems of Tampa, featuring the  Harbour Island Athletic Club and SpaJackson's Bistro Bar & Sushi and  American Social Tampa with gorgeous views of the water from each location. The best part? If you work in the future developments of Water Street Tampa, you can boat or paddle to work! 

Davis Islands

Davis Islands was developed in the 1920s and has been one of the premier locations for Tampa families on the water. With a mix of mansions and single family residences and apartments, this location has all the amenities you can want. It is home to Peter O'Knight Airport, Tampa General Hospital, Marjorie Park Marina/park. If you want a close-up view of Gasparilla every year, Davis Islands is the place for you!  You can hop on  Pirate Water Taxi to access other areas of downtown Tampa too!

Westshore District

The Westshore District is on the western side of Tampa and includes the world-renown Tampa International AirportInternational Plaza and Bay Street and  Westshore Plaza and thousands of jobs in offices throughout the area. Westshore also includes the gorgeous The Godfrey Hotel & Cabanas Tampa with WTR Pool & Grill to enjoy your time on beautiful Tampa Bay!

Interbay Area/South Tampa

Are you transferring to  MacDill Air Force Base soon? Interbay area in South Tampa might be for you! It includes an area closest to the base and a mix of older homes, newer condos and apartments and a community closely connected to the water. You are likely to see a boat at almost every home you drive past in this region of Tampa. 

Downtown Tampa

Do you love events and shows or just a quiet walk by the water? Then downtown Tampa might be the perfect place for you to live on the water in Tampa! Catch a show at  Straz Center for the Performing Arts, a walk on Tampa Riverwalk or one of the dozens of festivals or events at  Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park

As you can see, there is no reason to not take advantage of the best places to live on the water in Tampa!
