No culinary trend has hit Tampa, or Florida for that matter, much harder than the proliferation of food trucks over the past year.  All throughout the state in major cities like Tampa and Miami, food trucks serving everything from home-made ice cream pops to grilled cheese sandwiches, sliders, tacos, burgers, and more having been popping up at an astonishingly fast rate.

Now around 40 of the top food trucks in Florida will get to meet for a battle of culinary prowess in Tampa when Saturday, October 20 rolls around.  It's called Food Truck Wars and it's going down at 1105 E. Twiggs St. in Tampa's Channelside District.

Food Truck Wars will kick off at 4 p.m. and last until 10 p.m. where guests like you can head out and vote on food truck cuisine ranging from cupcakes to Latin, barbecue, Mexican, and much more.  Categories at the Food Truck Wars will include a Peoples Choice Award, Top Sales, Awesome Dessert, Largest Single Food Item, and a Culinary Chef Taste Off.

Both the Sunset Optimist Club and Wesley Chapel Optimist Club will be on hand at Food Truck Wars to raise funds for the efforts in helping out underprivileged youth in the Tampa Bay community.

The Orlando Food Truck Wars brought in around 30,000 people and the Altamonte Springs brought in 20,000.  Head out to the Food Truck Wars in Tampa on Saturday, October 20 and help break the record!
