When it comes to holiday events in the Tampa Bay area perfect for the entire family, there are probably none quite like Nights of Shimmering Lights in Plant City.
Going down from now until January 7, 2012, Nights of Shimmering Lights is a dazzling display of holiday lights and sounds you don't even have to get out of your car for.
Nights of Shimmering Lights boasts over a half million twinkling lights alongside an intimate path. Drive your van, car, or truck through this winter wonderland setting. Drive through and experience scenes including Winter Wonders and Undersea Adventure while listening to the sounds of the season right from your car radio.
Nights of Shimmering Lights boats over 600 different lighted scenes, tunnels, and more in this one of a kind, traveling display. The big feature is Animation Lane where mega trees, arches, and shooting poles flicker and shine to commemorate the holiday season.
To make things fun, the organizers have "lost" their friend Kris Maus in the park surrounding the event. Participants can count how many times they see this cartoon mouse throughout the drive then enter their guess on www.nightsofshimmeringlights.com. A drawing will be held on January 10th where the winner can nab $50 just for the right guess.

This attraction is located at the intersection of State Road 60 and Sydney Washer Road in Plant City and open on Thursday and Sunday from 6-9 p.m. as well as Friday and Saturday from 6-10:30 p.m.
