With the cold and bitter winter behind us, Tampa residents can now look forward to a whole slew of summer events well suited for those who enjoy live music and big concerts all throughout this booming metropolis of ours.  Whether it's pulse-pounding electronic music, relaxed country, or all-out rock you enjoy, there's likely a concert or music festival perfect for you in Tampa this summer.  Here are some of the best.

Tropical Heatwave - Tropical Heatwave is one of the longest running live music festivals in Tampa that's still around today.   Presented by local radio station WMNF, Tropical Heatwave will bring over 40 bands to nine different stages throughout Ybor City on Saturday, March 12.  Headlining acts include Chuck Prophet and Mission Express, The Growlers, The Bright Light Social Hour, and more.  Tickets are $30 in advance.

Loafing in the Park - This inaugural concert series is taking place in conjunction with Tropical Heatwave on May 12.  Best of all, it's completely FREE to attend.  Head out to Centennial Park in Ybor City and enjoy a full evening of live, local music, craft beer, specialty wine, artist vendors, and more.  The band line-up includes the Bella Danza Dance Crew, The Mud Flappers, The Vodkanauts, The Groves, and The Mojo Gurus.

Sunset Music Festival - Sunset Music Festival is gearing up to be the premier eletronic dance music festival in Tampa when it hits the North Lot of Raymond James Stadium on Saturday, May 26.  Head out and see live DJ sets from big-name DJs including Pretty Lights, Datsik, Morgan Page, and many others.  General admission tickets are only $45 in advance.

Downtown Digital Block Party - While Sunset is taking over Tampa, Downtown Digital will take over the other side of the bay on Saturday, June 2 when it invades Jannus Live in Downtown St. Petersburg.  This inaugural electronic music festival will bring together some top national and local acts including Ladytron, Mustard Pimp, and BoomBox.  Tickets are only $25 in advance.

Vans Warped Tour - The biggest punk rock festival returns to Vinoy Park in Downtown St. Petersburg on Sunday, July 29.  This all-day festival will feature live concerts from All Time Low, Bayside, Taking Back Sunday, Machine Gun Kelly, New Found Glory, and many more.  Tickets are $33.43 plus applicable service fees.
