To the delight of - we'll venture to guess - nearly everyone, the 1-800-ASK-GARY Amphitheater is dropping the dreaded phone number from its name and changing it to Live Nation Amphitheater, according to the Tampa Tribune.

Live Nation, the owner of the Tampa concert venue, began taking down all the 1-800-ASK-GARY related signs this week after the Sarasota-based medical and legal referral service's contract with the Amphitheater ended on December 31, the Tribune reports.

This comes just in time for the Florida State Fair, kicking off this week from February 7th through 18th as well as a handful of summer concerts at the Amphitheater including the Hooters Country Megaticket concert series and more.

The Tampa concert venue was named the Ford Amphitheater from its opening days back in 2004 until the summer of 2010 when the legal referral service 1-800-ASK-GARY took over the naming rights, inciting a backlash of joking and disapproval throughout the community including a Facebook page asking to change the name back, according to the Tribune.

The 1-800-ASK-GARY sign above the ticket booths and a banner facing the Florida State Fairgrounds property have been taken down, but a few still remain inside the Amphitheater, the Tribune reports.

No other brand names have stepped up to replace the relatively short-lived 1-800-ASK-GARY title, according to the Tribune.

We'll keep you posted when, and if, more news arises regarding the 1-800-ASK-GARY Live Nation Amphitheater.
