Since 1997, the City of Tampa's Community Tree Program, Tree-mendous Tampa has been providing individuals and neighborhood associations with free trees for planting on city land, street rights of way, and more in an effort to conserve and enhance our natural environment.

Encouraging community involvement at the time of planting and beyond, Tree-mendous Tampa can provide up to two trees per residence planted on city rights of way, which are located between the curb and sidewalk.  Once these trees are planted, residents will be responsible for daily watering and upkeep of their tree.

The program offers a variety of trees in different sizes and types including Bald Cypress, Live Oak, Elm, Crape Myrtle and more to choose from ranging in sizes from 15 to 30 gallons.

Tree-mendous Tampa operates because benefits of planted trees throughout a community are plentiful.  Trees help clean the air, save energy by shading buildings and minimizing the need for air-conditioning, provide a sense of peace and well-being in the community, and more.
