It's not always easy finding the right, healthy food to eat in the sea of "healthy!" "fat free!" "all-natural!" and whatever other buzzword-heavy food items lining the shelf at your local grocery store.  It seems as if marketers for any and every product can use the strongest of healthy descriptors for their sometimes not-so-healthy foods and get away with it, leaving you, the customer (who's always right!) as the victim of this deception.

Not to get you down or anything, it's just the nature of the often-competitive food industry now.

There are alternatives, though.  Farmer's Markets, for one, are great places to get many foods that are certified organic, honestly healthy, and locally grown.  Luckily for those in or around North Tampa, there's one that goes down at the Shops at Wiregrass every first and third Saturday of the month.

Running from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m., these Fresh Market events feature more than 50 vendors selling anything from certified organic fruits and vegetables to plants, herbs, garden supplies, and much more.  This is a perfect event for a morning outing with the family as crafts are available for the kids, live music emanating from the stage, and foods from far and wide readily available for sampling.

If this sounds intriguing, the next ones will be held on...

July - 2nd and 16th

August - 6th and 20th

September - 3rd and 17th

October - 1st and 15th

Pick a date, check out the Fresh Market at the Shops at Wiregrass, and find some great, delicious, and healthy eats!
