Maybe you've done a few 5k runs around town, maybe you haven't, but we can guarantee you've probably never run like this before.
The 5k Zombie Run gives you the chance to chase or be chased by the undead through a treacherous, 5k (3.1 mile) outdoor course and hopefully survive by the finish line.
This one of a kind 5k race is going down on Saturday, December 22 at Little Everglades Ranch in Dade City and everyone's invited to participate. Whether it's clad in bloody makeup and tattered clothing as a zombie or running for your life as a hopeful zombie apocalypse survivor, the choice is yours when it comes to who's, or what, side you're on at the 5k Zombie Run.
Here's how it works. Those participating as the ones being chased will get three flags on a flag football-style belt to wear. You'll get to run, climb, and crawl through the adventurous outdoor course at Little Everglades ranch while those participating as the zombies try and snatch them from you. Make it to the finish line with at least one flag intact and you've survived!
All participants will get a free beer at the finish line and makeup will be provided for those who want to participate as the zombies.
Registration for the 5k Zombie Run in Tampa is $45 for those who want to be part of the undead horde (including makeup), $90 for those who want to be zombie bait and $15 for spectators.
