'Tis the season for giving and O'Brien's Irish Pub in Brandon, along with support from Lorraine's Place Pub , The Landing Bar and Grill , Fox and Hounds British Pub , and Linksters Tap Room Brandon , donated 2.5 TONS of turkeys to the Metropolitan Ministries Tampa, Florida to help feed the homeless for Thanksgiving!

These local Brandon establishments hosted the Second Annual Turkey Round- Up, where donations in the form of canned goods and cash were accepted to lend a helping hand to the Metropolitan Ministries. What a heartwarming way for the city of Brandon to come together to really make Thanksgiving a time when ALL Tampa locals can be thankful for something.

The Metropolitan Ministries of Tampa was founded in 1972 and is an independent, non-profit, local, faith-based organization with a commitment to affording Hope for all. Their efforts help poor and homeless families of Tampa by providing shelter, food, life skills, resources and child care. Metropolitan Ministries provides 2,500 meals every day, so donations of all kinds are gladly accepted and greatly appreciated.

Wondering how you can help your hurting neighbors now? On the Metropolitan Ministries website there is a “Holiday Store” where you can shop to donate their most needed items so that 18,000+ families can share in the joy and HOPE of the holiday season too. From food to presents for the children, YOU can help! Don’t have time to shop for your donations? Monetary donations are greatly appreciated year round as well.

Thanks to O’Brien’s, Linksters, Lorraine’s, Fox and Hounds, The Landing and all of their patrons. Our local poor and homeless families have at least a turkey to be thankful for this year. What will you do to help?
