Wazoo has been ranked as one of the top ten beer festivals in the nation by USA Today and the festivities have only grown since then! On Saturday August 2nd, Lowry Park Zoo will be transformed into a haven for beer enthusiasts and the real party animals out there ready to go, rain or shine.

Over 275 beers and drinks from around the world will be served for you to sample, along with food from restaurants around the Tampa Bay area and live music. Some of the restaurants that will be participating include Gaspar's Grotto, BJ's Brewhouse,  Kona Grill, Papa Johns, Sonny's BBQ, and more! Right now, bands that are confirmed include Impulse World Beat, Kim Harpo & The Hawks, and Adrian Ray Band. More will be added to the lineup as the date approaches.

This festival fundraising event will take place from 7:30-10:30 pm (VIPs can arrive at 6:30pm). Right now, Early Bird admission tickets are available for $60--if you want to get there earlier to beat crowds and be able to relax in the air-conditioned Safari Lodge, then you'll want to get the VIP "Beastly Beverage Club" tickets which are $100. On July 15th, the general admission tickets will rise to $65 and to $70 on the day of the event.

A couple tips to keep in mind for those ready to embark on a brew safari:
1. Dress Accordingly: If you look back at the event's history, it is almost a tradition that it will rain just before or during the event. A little water never stopped anyone from having fun (obviously, since the event has only continued to grow regardless of weather) and of course random showers are expected in Florida--just keep it in mind and check the weather forecast day of!

2. Plan a Designated Driver: Or get a cab. In previous years, there have been cab companies lined up outside the gates willing to give discount or flat rates for festival participants. There is also the option of bringing your designated driver along with you--designated driver tickets are cheaper than general admission at $40.

Mark your calendars for this special nationally recognized festival--which also happens to be a fundraiser to help Florida's favorite Lowry Park Zoo. And in the meantime, make sure to follow them on Facebook and Twitter for updates and special offers!
