Last week, we brought you the news that Ybor Bar Wars will make its triumphant return to Gaspar's Grotto in Ybor City. Now, we've got all the details on this fun, free and one-of-a-kind bartender competition taking place this Saturday, June 29.

Kicking off at 1 p.m. on Gaspar's expansive outdoor patio, Ybor Bar Wars 2013 will pit 13 pairs of Ybor City's best bartenders against each other in contest categories of bar tending skill, knowledge and humor for the ultimate bragging rights courtesy of event sponsors, Tampa's own Touch Vodka and Miller Lite.

Participating bartender pairs will come from Ybor bars including  The Bad Monkey, The Boneyard, Coyote Ugly, The Dog’s Bollocks, Double Decker, Elmer’s Sports Cafe, Factoria, Gaspar’s Grotto, Green Iguana Ybor, Liquid Lounge, Reservoir Bar, Tequilas and The Dirty Shame.

And, the contest categories will include...

Ybor Trivia - Does your bartender know about Ybor? We mean  the real truth: the party scene, the people, the drunken tales? This is their chance to answer funny questions and show their knowledge about their town and the regulars that drink there!

Siamese Twin Pour - Bartenders will be put in pairs to make some drinks for the crowd.  Easy enough, right? Except, they'll be attached as twins and only one can pour the liquor while the other pours the mix.

Bubble Burst - You'll have to wait for the day of the event to see what this is!

Barbacks Back - Attached back to back, one bartender will have a broom and the other with a bucket.  They'll have to work as a team cleaning colored cups while other teams are doing the same.

Def Poetry -  Each team will have to write a funny poem about Ybor and then deliver the best performance on stage.

Blind Man’s Drink - With one person’s arms underneath the other's, the team will have to make one drink with a variety of ingredients.  The person in front can guide the person's arms in the back.  After the drink is made, the person in the back will have to bring the drink up to their teammates mouth and control the cup for them to drink in the fastest time.

Ybor Bar Wars is completely free to attend and best of all, all the drinks made in the contest will be handed out to the thirsty crowd.  In addition, there will be drink specials courtesy of Miller Lite and Touch Vodka, as well as raffle prizes, live entertainment and more throughout the day.
