The beloved local landmark and majestic movie palace is the place to be beginning at 7 p.m. that evening when it hosts local craft brewers, and local restaurants serving snacks and samples of their favorite fare, during this year's BeerFest fundraising event.
Those in command of this year’s annual event are more than qualified to be calling the shots. Michelle Baker, owner-manager of The Refinery and Veronica Danko, owner of The Independent Bar and Cafe, have everything in order for an evening of exceptional food, drink and fun.
You might even say they have the event plans on (Tom) Cruise control at this point.
Now in its seventh year, the (almost) annual event is one of Tampa Theatre’s favorite fundraisers. Money raised benefits the theater’s artistic, educational and community programs plus its ongoing preservation, according to a spokesperson.
Here’s the tactical information about how the evening progresses:
7 p.m. Limited-capacity premium sampling commences
8 p.m. Grand sampling ticket-holders are given clearance to enter the premises
Advance tickets for the premium sampling are $65 and $40 for grand sampling through July 20. Any delays in purchase will cost you. After July 20, day-of prices rise to $70 and $45.
Dressing like a favorite character from the movie Top Gun, or something inspired by the movie, is encouraged. While there is a sequel in the works for the original movie, there will be no sequel, and no equal, to this event.
So hop to it, be a Maverick and get ready to take flight with some top flights of beer!
