There's plenty going on this weekend in Tampa Bay, and there's a ton of fun events to get out and experience! We got stuff for Bucs fans around the NFL Draft (just 89 days until veterans report for training camp), and lots of stuff for foodies, readers, artists, and those interested in helping some wonderful causes in our area. Get out and enjoy your city this weekend!
But we're also here to warn you, next Saturday alone has the following events: Cinco de Mayo, Tampa Riverfest 2018 (with events like the Tampa Riverfest Scavenger Hunt and TacoFest surrounding it), the Halftime Music Festival with Snoop Dogg and T.I. at Ray Jay, Lynyrd Skynyrd at the Amphitheatre, USF Graduation at the Sun Dome, UTampa Graduation, the Kentucky Derby... we'll save the rest for next week. But start planning now and realize getting around, or even getting an Uber, might require more planning than usual.
But deal with that later: here's our list of the Top 10 Things to Do in Tampa Bay this weekend!
Join the wonderful and philanthropic team at BOING! Who will the Bucs take at #7? If recent history is a guide, probably the wrong guy! But get excited about the future during the
Fan Hope Lottery NFL Draft at O'Brien's, and win great prizes as all the quarterbacks go off the board. Sure the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were 5-11 last year, but it could be worse: we could live in Cleveland! That applies not just to football by the way.
The 2018 Miller Lite Bucs Uncensored Draft Party is hosted by Justin Pawlowski, creator of the biggest Bucs podcast on JoeBucsFan.com. There's probably no one in the area more in-tune with the NFL Draft and the Bucs, so if you're a diehard (or a Stick Carrier), this is the place you'll want to be.
Man & Woman of the Year is a philanthropic competition to support blood cancer research, and 813area's own Josh Stanaland is a candidate! Go Josh! A terrific event at the Bryan Glazer Family JCC with tickets still available for this great cause.
Oxford Exchange launched the Book Fair in 2015 to provide an open platform for local authors to connect with the community face-to-face. Alongside the authors will be several interactive experiences. OE is a gorgeous space, and this is one not to be missed by both writers and readers.
Sweetwater Organic Community Farm is celebrating a wonderful harvest with our 26th Annual PestoFesto Fundraising Party. An event full of community spirit featuring farm-fresh organic pesto pasta and salad, rolls, dessert, and juice. Locally-brewed beer, select wine, and organic coffee available by donation.
