From Gasparilla to Guavaween, there are a ton of home-brewed events the Tampa Bay area can truly call their own.  Another one of these is the longstanding AirFest at MacDill Air Force Base which takes place each spring here in South Tampa.

Taking place on the weekend of April 6-7, 2013, this year's AirFest is gearing up to be bigger and better than ever with live air demonstrations from the famous U.S. Navy Blue Angels flight team and much more on hand over the weekend.  Best of all, the Airfest is free to attend with free parking as well.

The AirFest kicks off at 8 a.m. and runs until 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

If you've been, you know.  The AirFest is a one of a kind, amazing celebration of flight where adults and kids of all ages can enjoy a weekend of free fun and entertainment at the legendary MacDill Air Force Base.  A Blue Angels show is a sure-to-be memorable experience as the Blue Angels demonstration pilots fly state of the art F/A-18 Hornets with wild loops, spins, and synchronized moves above MacDill.

Information is still limited regarding the 2013 Airfest, but if AirFests in years past are any indication, guests to the free event can expect anything from the United States Special Operations Command jump team parachuting from the sky to other dazzling military and civilian aerial demonstrations.

We'll keep you posted as the event nears and more news arises regarding the 2013 AirFest at MacDill Air Force Base taking place April 6-7, 2013.
