The stars are shining "Pink" at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa this month for PINKTOBER®, a series of events held annually at the casino to raise money for breast cancer awareness and research. The casino kicked off their month-long fundraising efforts on Friday, October 2nd with a PINKTOBER® Concert Series at the Hard Rock Cafe featuring Tampa Bay Acoustic Music Festival headliner Eden Shireen.

The concert series continues every Friday night through PINKTOBER® featuring local female artists including Angela Rodriguez, Natalie Claro and Francesca Giorgianni.  In addition to the concert, the Hard Rock Cafe is featuring specialty "Pink-tini's" and the casino is auctioning off a pink electric guitar signed by the artist.  All PINKTOBER® proceeds benefit the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Foundation.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks are the largest network of breast cancer awareness events in the nation.  These walks unite nearly 300 communities with a shared determination "to finish the fight against breast cancer".  Walk participants raise critical funds that allow the American Cancer Society to "fund groundbreaking breast cancer research; provide free, comprehensive information and support to those touched by breast cancer; and help people take steps to reduce their breast cancer risk or find it early when it is most treatable."

October is a very special month at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa. This will be the 16th year of Hard Rock International’s support of PINKTOBER® and the eighth year of Seminole Hard Rock Tampa’s involvement in the fundraising program. Last year, the casino raised more than $80,000 during its PINKTOBER® program to help fund research for prevention and a cure for breast cancer.

Eden Shireen kicked off the fundraising efforts as she seranaded the crowd with songs from her new album Fraction of Time as well as crowd favorites "Feeling of Falling" and "Tangled Heartstrings".  Eden captured our hearts when she was discovered during the casino's Tampa Bay Acoustic Music Festival this past June. Since then, she has graced the Hard Rock Cafe stage several times, placed third in the Wild 94.1 Tampa Bay Talent Search and has played shows around the state.

Eden was especially excited to be back supporting Making Strides. "PINKTOBER® is an incredible experience, it supports not only us as artists but an amazing cause. My aunt is a survivor of stage three breast cancer so I'm especially excited and honored to be here playing to support the cause."

Eden finished her set by autographing this "pinktacular" electric guitar for auction, making one lucky fan very happy and raising $200 that will directly benefit the Making Strides Foundation.

In addition to the PINKTOBER® concert series, the casino has planned a month of fun designed to raise additional money for Making Strides. The casino
will be donating 100 percent of the proceeds from sales of their limited-edition Making Strides pink sunglasses, as well as proceeds from sales of the “2015 Seminole Hard Rock Girls Calendar” during the month of October. Don't get caught around town without a pair of these pink shades:
