Share - Our Localite of the Week Anthony Vito Encourages You to Watch The USF Bulls Beat Tulsa!

The days are getting shorter, the nights are getting spookier, and your favorite autumnal obsession of cheering ruthlessly for the college football team of your choice is in full swing! So why not join your favorite local bloggers and podcasters who cover and support your favorite local college team

If you’re like me, you love the crazy, unexpected, wild sport that is college football; and you love to watch it with fellow fans who feel the same way. Join the guys from SBNation’s University of South Florida sports blog, The Daily Stampede, for a watch party on Friday, October 12 at 6 p.m. at Beef ‘O’ Brady’s in Palma Ceia. The #23 Bulls take on the Tulsa Golden Hurricane for a cross-divisional conference tilt on the road.

The Daily Stampede consists of local writers, podcasters, and sports columnists who cover all things USF Athletics, and this watch party is an opportunity to meet the staff, with a percentage of all food and drink sales going back to TDS to support the staff covering away games, bowl games, conference tournaments, media days, and merchandise to give back to the fans. Tables will be reserved for diehard Bulls fans, and the guys Bulluminati Podcast will raffle off a pair of suite tickets to the Homecoming game vs. UConn, and a pair of tickets to the most anticipated post-Thanksgiving event: the War on I-4 UCF vs USF rivalry game on Black Friday. This Is sure to be an event that’ll have you shout “horns up!”

While you’re in that end of the bay, enjoy some of the local nightlife in that area. One of my new favorites is the Red Dog Bar & Grille for affordable drink specials, delicious wings and food, games, and plenty of TV’s to watch any sporting event of your choosing. When you go exploring in this city, you’ll never know the gems you will find!

Explore German Culture During Oktoberfest in Curtis Hixon Park This Weekend

Prost! Put on your lederhosen and dirndl for the biggest Oktoberfest in Tampa, happening Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park. With six different beer categories, Pilsner, Märzen, Oktoberfest, Dunkel, Wheat and Radler, there's bound to be something that tickles everyone’s fancy! Click the bottom of your glass with your neighbors at Oktoberfest and avoid offending your fellow drinker by making eye contact while saying “Prost!” before divulging into your liter of beer! If you want to take part in all of the traditions, the most important song to learn is “Ein Prosit”, which is sung every 20 minutes or so. At the end of the song, you yell “Eins, Zwei, Drei, Gsuffa!” which means “one, two, three, drink!” click the bottom of your glass with your neighbor and take a sip of your drink! Traditional German fare like soft pretzels and bratwursts will keep you nourished during this all day drink-a-thon. It begins at 4pm on Friday and ends around 11pm on Sunday.
